Mandarin Class for Kids on Sunday


Lyrebird Language Centre is openning Mandarin Class for Kids on Sunday at Aspley State School.

To help children who have sports and other activities on Saturday, we are opening new Mandarin Classes for children on Sunday from term 2.

Sunday Mandarin Class for beginners:

This course is designed for young kids to learn Mandarin in fun with games and music. The kids will learn the proper Pin Yin (Chinese pronunciation) and some basic Chinese characters.

This Class is ideal for kids who don’t have the opportunity to speak Mandarin at home.

The goal is to cultivate the interest of learning another language and build proper fundation of their future Mandarin study.

  • Date: Every Sunday 28 April – 23 June (9 Classes)
  • Time: 9:30 – 10:30

Sunday Mandarin Class for Young Chinese Test (YCT):

Our Young Chinese Test (YCT) course is a new course designed for your students to learn Mandarin with a goal in mind.

The YCT class is great for students whose mother tongue is not Mandarin to anticipate a Chinese Language Proficiency Test.

The goal is to promote learning through testing and improve students’ self-confidence and learn Mandarin in a systematic way.

  • Date: Every Sunday 28 April – 23 June (9 Classes)
  • Time: 10:40 – 11:40

Students who pass the level 1 of YCT can understand and use some of the most common Chinese phrases and sentences. For more information about YCT (Young Chinese Test) please visit here.

The classroom is inside Aspley State School Library. Park at the staff carpark from Maundrell Terrace.
